Materials used for making Google Glass parts

                    Hello friends everybody wonders about the Google glass.Because it's only product to gives an expectations of the future technology.Google glass uses some new hardwares and  softwares without using any newer operating systems.But the Google glass's functionality mostly depends on it's hardwares.Today in this article we are gonna see that hardwares more deeply in our "Materials Used" section.

1.FRAME

 

  The Google glass's frame is made with the "Titanium".Because it's curved and bendable nature ensures it will fit most head sizes.

      The two nose ridges are made with the "Titanium plastic".Which gives smooth feeling whenever we wear it.

   

Glass comes with the "Titanium Trim" on the exterior of the frame.Also this titanium gives a lesser weight compered to other specs.So it gives a great feeling when we use it.

2. PRISM PROJECTOR

       The light bulb is placed inside a projector.The light from the bulb then passes through a prism then the prism splits up the white color into various bands of colored lights.It gives a 640 x 360 pixels.These colors are straightly project to retina. 

Note:The light bulb emits only white color.But the white is all colors mixed together.

3.BATTERY

Battery

    Google glass uses a   "Lithium - Polymer" battery.The other materials are as follows

1. Positive Electrode: LiCoO2 or LiMo2O4.
2. Negative Electrode:Li or Carbon - Li, Intercalation  Compound - C6Li
3. Seperator:Non-Conduction polymer lectrolyte(e.g. Polyethylene oxide,PEO)

It's also called as lithium-ion-polymer .In this batteries the polymer lamination is used.

4.Camera

Camera

The Google glass has a 5MP camera and it provides 720 p video clarity.The voice command is used to take photos and record videos.

     Light sensor allows glass to appropriately adjust the photo and video settings to optimize the final product.

5.SPEAKER

  Google uses “Bone Conduction Transducer” speaker to his glass. That means the speaker sends vibrations that travel through your skull to your inner ear.


    There’s no need to plug in ear buds or wear headphones. It is something newer and better speaker ever.

It's an some advanced speaker technology.

6.SENSORS

1. Proximity sensors
2. Light sensors
3. Ambient light sensors
4. Inverse MPO - 9150

From this the Proximity and light sensors are helps the glasses to figure out if they being were or removed. The glass goes to off state whenever the glass is removed and automatically wakes up when we wear it, so the battery gives better performance.  

7.CPU & MEMORY

Component board

  The Google glass holds the OMAT 4430 - DUAL CORE CPU.The 682 MB RAM,16 GB memory and CPU all are together to form a component board.

Note:It's actually 1GB RAM but some is being used for other hardware purposes.

The CPU is made with 

1. Silicon
2. copper and
3. plastics

• Silicon is used for making the semiconductors(the CPU hold the semiconductors).Memory chips primarily consists of silicons.
• Copper perfectly conduct and supply the electricity to the various components inside the CPU from the power source.
• Plastics are used for insulating wires,provisions for RAM,FAN,capacitors and so on. 
• The memory layer is coated with a layer of glass by protecting  the silicon from temperature.
• The pins are made of either gold or tin.

8.CONNECTIVITY

   The Glass has WI-FI,GPS and Bluetooth connections.

The internet connection accessible possible only on  WI-FI.In a travelling time or stay away from the WI-FI zone, you can create a portable WI-FI hotspot wiht your mobile phone by doing following steps,'

1. Open settengs"
2. From here move to " wireless & networks > more > Tethering & portable hotspot  ".
3. Configure or turn on your phone's portable hotspot.

It has both the WI-FI card and Bluetooth card to connect wireless devices.Google also offers secure Google cloud syncing.

9.TOUCH PAD 

Touch pad

.You can use touch gestures by tapping and sliding your finger on the touchpad located on the right side of the device near your temple.Swipe forward to move right on your timeline, swipe backwards to move left through items on your timeline. Swipe rapidly to navigate quickly through your timeline.

 10.Other Components

Other cases

    These are all the components are mostly used on the outside of the glass.Outer cases are made with the "Titanium plastics" and"Titanium" .
